About Advocate Healthcare Alliance
We are the family of a disabled child who has navigated the medical system for over a decade with multiple PICU stays that were over a month long. We’ve seen up-close the need for specialized care for this brave community. In response we created the program that changes everything, giving the pediatric disabled community a voice & standard of care geared specifically to their needs.
In This Together
In This Together is a program we created as a collaborative approach to medical care. This program addresses best practice ideas for the better treatment of a disabled child within a medical setting. It’s a program that seeks to create both partnership & trust between the parent of the disabled child & the medical personnel responsible for the child’s care. We believe with a few minor tweaks to the systems already in place a new lane of care can begin, one that meets their unique needs & is most beneficial to the child’s healing.
The goal is to create teamwork with the patients main caretaker/nurse (the parent) & the medical personal providing services to the disabled child. Creating a unique & specialized standard of care that fosters both the confidence of the patient receiving care & those administering said care.
